The start of the open-source journey
Another year, another post 🎉. Jokes apart, I intend to write more posts this year and, in the theme of this post, contribute to the open-source community on projects I either use or have an interest in learning about.
I have had this desire to contribute to open-source for a lot of years now, but only recently have I got the confidence that I could actually be of help when, for work, I had to study the internals of some parts of the Spring framework and Spring boot projects. This allowed me to understand how the things that I use day-to-day really worked underneath and in the end create a library for internal use that resembles a "Spring-native" library.
With confidence in check, now the question to answer is where to start to contribute... First and foremost I will continue to study the Spring projects internals and issues list in pursuit of something I can tackle. Along with that, will keep an eye on GoodFirstIssue.dev for projects that I have already some familiarity with.
To summarise, so it begins this journey and this new year. May it be full of posts and PRs. To follow any activity on the open-source space I won't post here follow me on GitHub.
